Let the Attack on Pimples Begin

No matter how much we age an occasional breakout from a pesky little pimple can still plague us all. We know that cleansing, toning, and moisturizing daily along with an exfoliation 2-3 times a week can help minimize breakouts. But, it never seems to fail that somehow, sometimes you get that one painful red zit when least expected. Now because we’re not twelve, we know that pimple popping (however tempting) is not acceptable, so what should we do? We should go to battle, so let me introduce you to the Heavyweights.

In the Green corner we have Origins very own pimple attacker weighing in at .3 oz “Spot Remover”.

“Spot Remover” is made up of 1% salicylic acid which is needed in the attack on pimples. Salicylic acid is like your “Roto Rooter” for the pores, it goes down into the pore to remove pore clogging dirt, oil, and dead skin cells. The downside to salicylic acid is that it can cause the skin to flake and an intense tingle is experienced when applied. My solution, so what to the tingle, like applying alcohol to a cut, the tingle will pass shortly but the lasting benefit makes it worth while. Apply this at night so that if the skin starts to peel no one but your beside pillow hogger will notice, and use a scrub in the morning to remove the flaky skin. This gel formation goes right on the spot and begins shrinking the pimple immediately. At the amazing price of $11.00 it’s a champion fighter you can feel comfortable putting your money on.

In the Pink corner it’s petite but scary weighing in at .2 oz all the way from the west coasts of California, introducing Benefits very own “Boo Boo Zap”
“Boo Boo Zap” is an amazingly cute vial of 2% salicylic acid and camphor in liquid form. 2% salicylic acid is the most effective percent to use in a topical acne facial product. But, with the larger percentage you get more tingle, more flake, for more money. My caution with Boo Boo Zap is that salicylic acid is unstable and when exposed to air it starts to dry out (which is why it is so effective in drying out your pimples), but Boo Boo Zap might want to reconsider it’s packaging to extend the shelf life of the product. After a while Boo Boo Zap will start to crystallize in the bottle causing you to have to discard that bottle and purchase another. Boo Boo Zap is priced at $20.00 and is a perfect remedy to scare those pimples away.

In the Blue corner making those spots run and leaving your skin in Bliss weighing in at a grand total of .5 oz, formerly known as "See Spot Run" introducing the new and improved “Change Your Spots"
“Change Your Spots” has the most effective percentage of salicylic acid at 2% and licorice extract to help fight the discolorations that pimples may leave behind. Bliss also recommends use of their product in the P.M., for the purpose that Licorice extract is photo-sensitive and should not be used on the skin in sunlight. This is a cream formula that adheres to the pimple well.

Change Your Spots is priced a little higher at $32.00, but might be worth every penny.

Now that you have a clear idea of what heavy weight fighter can contend with those pimples, those future minor breakouts will now be a thing of the past.
My filthy little secret: Salicylic acid can be used on those stubborn ingrown hairs. It has the ability to open a pore so that the hair can pass through the pore easily.
